Family Vacation to Puerto Morelos, Mexico

2019 has been one of the coldest years on record for the US. Rebecca’s side of the family, living in Minnesota, was getting hammered with snowfall, while we here in Northern Virginia were getting a mix of frozen rain, snow and slush. A family vacation somewhere warm was needed. I requested good snorkeling, and Mary Ellen, Rebecca’s mother, requested good food. Puerto Morelos, a town south of Cancun, was exactly that. Home to the second largest barrier reef in the world, and a beach-front villa with a private chef was just the break we all needed from the nasty weather.
