Dubai Trip

As the summer heat began to creep in, and COVID started to (slowly) creep out, we decided to take a weekend trip to Dubai. It’s only an hour up the road, and Rebecca and I wanted to stroll through one of the ultra cheap malls up there, called Dragon Mart. So, why not make a long weekend trip out of that?

Thanks to COVID we were able to find some great AirBnB deals, and landed a 2br apartment overlooking the Burj Kahlifa and the Dubai Mall fountain show for a steal of a price.

We got our Dragon Mart trip in before checking in to the AirBnB, and with that out of the way, we could do some of the things we knew the kids would enjoy. We spent some time at the Aquarium, and the attached underwater zoo. And we went to the observation deck on the highest floor of the Burj Khalifa – floor 148. After the trip was over and we were heading home, we joked that we didn’t spend the weekend in Dubai, we spent the weekend in Dubai Mall. Which is true – both the Aquarium and Burj Khalifa are connected to the mall. As is the fountain show. As were all the restaurants we dined in. Maybe next time we’ll see some more.
